POSITION TITLE: Clinical Support Associate (FTJOB ID: CSA26505DEPARTMENT: Clinical
PURPOSE: To assist the Center Manager in providing management for successful operations in MedExpress Urgent Care clinics.
POSITION DEMANDS:
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Administrative Duties:
- Ensures timely return of patient phone calls.
- Assists the front office staff with completion of patient call backs.
- Works in conjunction with Manager to maintain appropriate supply inventory and equipment needs.
- Assists the Center Manager to maintain laboratory and radiological operations.
- Assists with completion of CorporateCare paperwork including but not limited to Initial Injury Report, Referral Requests, Continuation of Care Progress Notes, Duty Forms, Result Notification, Tracking Logs, Billing Paperwork.
- Communication with patients, employers, referral sources, and third parties regarding workers’ compensation related activities.
- Assists the Center Manager and front office staff with completing medical record requests.
- Assists the Center Manager and front office staff with timely processing of billing information requests.
- Assists office staff in patient processing.
- Participation in management projects as determined by the Center Manager.
Clinical Duties:
- Ensures completion of daily referrals and out-patient testing appointment processes by appropriately delegating work assignments among clinical staff and/or by completing them independently.
- Assists clinical staff in direct patient care.
- Ensures completion of daily referrals and out-patient testing appointment processes by appropriately delegating work assignments among clinical staff and/or by completing them independently.
- Ensures timely return, provider review, and patient notification of patient testing results.
Other duties as deemed necessary and required as position evolves.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
· The principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· Applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices.
· Computerized information systems used in business applications and clinical management systems (EMR).
· Professional communication principles and practices including business letter writing and advanced report preparation knowledge.
Ability to:
· Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public in person and over the telephone.
· Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential patient issues and situations.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
· Learn computer software programs; enter and maintain accurate data and statistical information in order to consistently prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.
Training and Experience:
· Position may be filled by Medical Assistant, EMT – Basic, EMT – Intermediate, EMT – Paramedic, Radiologic Technologist, or Licensed Practical Nurse. Must meet educational requirements of the applicable position. Current license/certification is required.
· Previous clinical experience is required.
