The Wait is Over! - MedExpress Urgent Care Opens Fourth PA Clinic(Pittsburgh, PA- December 10, 2006)
On December 12, 2006, MedExpress Urgent Care will open the doors of its fourth clinic in Southwest Pennsylvania. Bringing efficient urgent care and exceptional customer service, MedExpress is a great healthcare option for those needing treatment for illnesses like flu, colds, bronchitis or pneumonia, and injuries such as strains, sprains, lacerations or other minor surgery needs.
MedExpress is a privately-owned company and was established by four physicians seeking to provide a customer-service approach to medicine, minimize wait times, and address the need for world-class, compassionate patient care.
Dr. Frank Alderman, President and CEO of MedExpress, is excited to begin wide-scale announcement of MedExpress’ services to the people of Pittsburgh. “MedExpress is a great option for those requiring medical attention for an injury or illness. Patients are seen by highly-trained professionals in a private, welcoming environment and treated to the best customer service possible – efficiently, with hardly any wait.”
“What differentiates us is our commitment and our full-service approach. Our clinic is always fully-staffed, with physicians, nurses, X-ray techs, and customer-service assistants,” said Alderman. MedExpress has the capacity to treat multiple patients privately and offers X-ray, Lab, EKG, and IV fluid services to patients requiring more extensive treatment.
Since the opening of the first MedExpress Urgent Care in Morgantown, West Virginia, in 2001, its popularity and success has encouraged the opening of other clinics. In 2004, MedExpress introduced its services to Washington, PA. Since then, clinics have opened in Monroeville, Pleasant Hills, Mars (December 12), and Vienna, WV.
Bryan Stuchell, M.D., Executive Vice President, stated “we wanted to introduce services to all of Pittsburgh, but our focus on customer service and great care required careful expansion.” MedExpress believes that every role is important in the patient experience and that the commitment to the patient can not be sacrificed.
Because MedExpress was founded on the principals of convenience and customer service, there are no appointments. Patients can just walk in, seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. MedExpress is known for its attention to great care and efficiency, and is proud of its ability to process, diagnose and treat most patients in under an hour.
Who can be seen? What about insurance? MedExpress sees patients of all ages. Executive Vice President in charge of medical operations, Christian McCarter, M.D. said “we’ve seen patients three days old, and patients 103 years old.” And, MedExpress accepts most insurance plans. “We’re in network with most insurances, and in most cases you don’t need a referral,” said McCarter. “You can just walk in or call your nearest clinic to confirm coverage.”
“Our communities always make us feel welcome,” says Alderman. “Our patients love receiving an outstanding Urgent Care experience, and local businesses enjoy taking advantage of our exceptional CorporateCare services.” CorporateCare is a division of MedExpress providing Workers’ Compensation and occupational medicine services.
“We specialize in urgent care, but we work closely with local physicians and emergency departments in treating patients,” said Kevin Blankenship, Chief Operations Officer. “We arrange appropriate follow-up and more extensive treatment when needed.”
In addition to unsurpassed medical services, MedExpress partners with its communities to create a positive impact on the community by supporting youth, education and athletics.
