MedExpress has solid first yearBy Roger Adkins, Staff Writer, Parkersburg News and Sentinel
VIENNA -- MedExpress Urgent Care had a great first year in the franchise's newest West Virginia location at 1500 Plaza on Grand Central Avenue. The clinic opened in February 2006 and has been well-received by the community, said Erich Lipphardt, director of marketing and development for the franchise. The clinic has received positive feedback from patients who were happy with the service.
"The community response has been overwhelming. We don't take anything for granted and are humbled by the warm welcome," he said. "It's been very encouraging to receive multiple thank you letters and praise. We're very grateful."
The location at the plaza is a boost the franchise's focus on providing easy access for patients, Lipphardt said. "The location in Vienna is working out well. We focus on convenience and the easy access for the clinic seems to be a plus for residents," he said.
Lipphardt said the company strives to fill a need in communities, providing care for illness and injury and urgent medical attention when the cause falls short of an all-out emergency.
"MedExpress fills a void in the health care network. We serve a need for treatment of the 70-80 percent of health care issues that are urgent, rather than emergencies," Lipphardt said.
MedExpress clinics strive to work with primary care physicians and local emergency rooms, Lipphardt said. "We're proud to work with primary care physicians and emergency rooms to ensure patients get appropriate treatment, when they need it. We offer full-service urgent care for all ages treating illness and injury," he said.
Lipphardt said the MedExpress motto is a simple one: "Great Care. Fast." He said it is the simplest way to relate what MedExpress clinics strive to accomplish.
"We focus first on providing great medical treatment, but we also hustle while paying attention to our patients. Customer service is king. We want to be the nicest, cleanest, and best medical experience any patient has had," he said. "Our facilities and embedded commitment to customer service makes us proud. Convenience, credentials, and technology are very important, and the difference."
