Southwest Pennsylvania’s Warm Welcome Spurs MedExpress Urgent Care's Growth to Greensburg(March, 2007)
The opening of a MedExpress Urgent Care clinic in Washington, PA in 2004 marked the beginning of a constant stream of positive feedback from happy, satisfied patients. Within two years, three more clinics opened in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Each has
been well received by its communities.
“The community response has been overwhelming and we are humbled by the warm welcome,” said Erich Lipphardt, Director Development and Marketing. “It’s been encouraging to receive multiple thank-you letters and praise. We’re very grateful.”
Locations in Monroeville, Pleasant Hills and Mars provide the Pittsburgh region with multiple opportunities for urgent care services. “We focus on convenience, and the easy access of the clinics is a plus for residents,” said Guy Avolio, MD, Medical Director at
the Pleasant Hills Location. “They love that we fill a need in their communities.”
MedExpress fills a void in Pittsburgh’s health care network by serving the need for treatment of health care issues that are urgent, rather than emergencies.
“Most of the illnesses or injuries that occur can be properly treated through urgent care,” said Lipphardt. “We provide treatment for illness and injury for all ages, while striving to work with primary care physicians and local emergency rooms to ensure that patients
get appropriate treatment when they need it.”
The response received at current clinics has resulted in the decision to open a fifth clinic in Pennsylvania in mid-May. “Greensburg seems like a nice, natural expansion for us, said Lipphardt. “The residents and local businesses are excited about our opening and
we’re thrilled at the opportunity to offer our services to another locale.”
MedExpress is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and always has a physician on-site, supported by nurses, X-ray techs and customer service specialists. “The fact that we offer a full-service approach to urgent care- with minor surgery and X-rays to
complement the typical doctor’s visit- always seems to impress our patients,” said Avolio. To learn more about MedExpress and its services, go to www.greatcarefast.com.
