Parkersburg's Big Red Gets Physical With MedExpress Urgent CareThe State Champion Big Red football team began its preparations for another run at a State title Thursday. Sports physicals are a requirement of the WV SSAC, and must be completed before practice can start for any team member.
This year, Parkersburg High School teamed up with MedExpress Urgent Care to ensure timely completion of the physicals in order to get focused on a repeat trip to the State Title match-up.
“It’s an honor to work with the team,” said Dr. David Ferrell, Medical Director at the MedExpress located in Vienna, “we’re happy to play a role.”
Physicals were offered to the entire team by MedExpress personnel. “We did this as part of our commitment to youth, education, and athletics,” said Gary Derk, Outreach Coordinator for the urgent care clinic. “We also helped out with middle school athletes
in South Parkersburg as well.”
Physicals were offered Thursday afternoon at the football locker room in order to help the team meet state requirements in an easy and efficient way.
