MedExpress Urgent Care Expands to Huntington and Charleston, WVMedExpress Urgent Care will open two southern West Virginia centers on November 5th and 6th. Huntington will open on November 5, 2008, in the Gabriel’s Plaza on Route 60, and Charleston will begin treating patients on November 6, 2008, at the corner of MacCorkle and 55th, near the Kanawha Mall.
These two centers will extend a state-wide expansion of MedExpress to the major cities in the state, and solidifies MedExpress as West Virginia’s urgent care leader. MedExpress is already treating patients in Morgantown, Parkersburg, Wheeling, and Beckley.
MedExpress began in Morgantown in 2001, and has since expanded to Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Florida. The Company’s founders have strong ties in West Virginia, and have elected to remain headquartered in Morgantown. The President and CEO, Frank Alderman, MD, grew up in White Sulphur Springs; the COO, Kevin Blankenship, MD, was raised in Coal City; and Bryan Stuchell, MD, the Chief Medical Officer, is from Preston County.
