MedExpress Opens in Ross Township, PA

MedExpress Urgent Care is opening its newest location on McKnight Road, in Ross Township, on Wednesday, August 26, 2009.  The center will be located in the Ross Towne Center, and is the 12th MedExpress location in the Pittsburgh area.

Frank Alderman, MD, President and CEO of MedExpress, is especially pleased to be in Ross Township.  “We’ve been searching for the right place to open a MedExpress in the north side of the city for several years now.  Our location on McKnight Road is excellent; it is convenient for residents, easily accessible, and has great visibility.”

MedExpress began in Morgantown in 2001, and has since expanded to Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Florida.  With the opening of the Ross Township center, MedExpress operates 38 centers nationwide.

Urgent care is one of the fastest growing sectors in health care- its value and utility are being recognized as an appropriate fit to the gap that exists in the healthcare spectrum between primary care and emergency medicine.  Simply defined, urgent care offers un-scheduled, walk-in health care for patients with illnesses or injuries that are not threatening to life or limb.
