Governor Manchin Helps MedExpress Open Region's Newest Urgent Care Center

South Charleston location is company's eighth in W.Va., 40th nationally

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Oct. 21, 2009) –  Praising MedExpress Urgent Care for its role in improving access to health care in the state, West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin today helped MedExpress open the region’s newest urgent care center and the company’s 40th nationwide.

The governor was joined by MedExpress Urgent Care CEO Frank Alderman, MD, and South Charleston Mayor Frank Mullens.

“I commend the hard work and investment MedExpress has brought to this state to improve medical accessibility and patient care.  Improving health care and its delivery will take a collective approach, and I appreciate the support that MedExpress and its founders have given to make that possible,” said Governor Manchin.

Coupled with the MedExpress facility that opened a year ago in Charleston, patients in and around the state’s capital have greater access to high-quality, affordable care.

“As a West Virginia native, I am proud to make South Charleston the site of our 40th MedExpress nationwide,” said Dr. Alderman. “Providing access to quality, affordable medical care by focusing on the entire patient experience has been our hallmark since we opened our first clinic in Morgantown eight years ago. That commitment to respecting the patient will never waver.”

The center is the Morgantown-based urgent care company’s 40th location in the nation and its eighth in the state. Located at 4812 MacCorkle Ave. SW,
S. Charleston, the center is expected to serve South Charleston, Nitro, Dunbar, Spring Hill, Cross Lanes, St. Albans and surrounding communities.
